RAY KING / FOUNDER & CEO
Seeing the whole project. Owning the details.
Ray King founded REKJ Builders with experience on both sides of a residential project: creating the home and understanding the real estate behind it. A licensed Texas real estate broker since 2002 and a builder with more than 20 years of construction and development experience, he brings a connected perspective to land, scope, execution, and the finished property.
His work spans modern spec homes, duplex and townhome infill, luxury vacation homes, renovation, REO assets, and government-funded home repair. That range means a project is considered through several lenses: how it will be built, how it will function, how it fits its market, and what it takes to deliver it.
Today, modern luxury building leads REKJ’s direction. The foundation remains practical: thoughtful planning, close attention to construction detail, and accountability from the early decisions through the final work.
Spec building requires the judgment to shape an opportunity before there is a finished home to show. Ray’s construction and brokerage experience connects the market, the building program, and the work on the ground.
REKJ’s development work brings together site evaluation, project feasibility, architectural coordination, estimating, trade procurement, scheduling, and construction delivery. A strong concept must translate into a buildable scope, a coordinated jobsite, and a finished home with a clear identity.
From foundations and framing to cabinetry, lighting, tile, and the final presentation, the details need to support the whole project. Our approach keeps design character, practical execution, and the way a buyer will experience the home in view throughout the work.

REAL ESTATE BROKERAGE / R. KING REALTY, LLC
Understanding value. Beyond the construction.
Ray’s real estate career informs the way he approaches development. Licensed as a Texas real estate broker since 2002, he has worked across residential transactions, property evaluation, renovation, and asset disposition through R. King Realty, LLC.
His experience includes directing the development, renovation, and sale of more than 150 residential properties. That perspective connects the physical condition of a property with its market position, improvement needs, and path to a sale.
Brokerage experience brings useful discipline to spec construction: understand the likely buyer, evaluate the market, align the home with its setting, and recognize the effect that scope and finish decisions can have on the finished product.
Brokerage and REO experience belongs to Ray King and R. King Realty, LLC; construction services are delivered through REKJ Builders, LLC.

From property condition to disposition.
The REO process connects valuation, property condition, repair planning, make-ready work, marketing, and transaction coordination. It requires consistent follow-through as an asset moves from an institutional portfolio toward a new owner.
Construction knowledge strengthens the assessment.
Ray’s general-contracting background adds practical understanding of repair scopes, contractor bids, schedules, quality control, and closeout. REKJ’s work also includes REO repairs, make-ready services, and property preservation.

GOVERNMENT CONTRACTING / MILLIONS IN AWARDS
Trusted with public work. Focused on delivery.
$3M+
Direct municipal contract awards.
REKJ’s track record includes millions in direct municipal awards supporting residential improvement and rehabilitation. This work calls for construction capability and the discipline to coordinate program requirements, homeowners, trades, inspections, and closeout.
DALLAS TOMORROW FUND
Three consecutive contract years.
REKJ was awarded $500,000 annually for three years through the Dallas Tomorrow Fund and successfully completed that engagement. The $1.5 million program total is part of our municipal contracting history.
That experience reflects sustained program delivery across successive contract years, with attention to scopes, construction coordination, and completion.
CITY OF DALLAS HOME REPAIR
100+ City projects since 2020.
City of Dallas experience includes HIPP rehabilitation, ARPA housing rehabilitation, occupied-home repairs, reconstruction, and essential improvements to existing housing.
Work spans roofing, foundation repairs, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, accessibility improvements, inspections, and closeout. Ray’s experience also includes preparing more than 400 City home-repair bids.
REKJ’s institutional experience includes work with Jubilee Park & Community Center and Volunteers of America Texas. Construction and rehabilitation services support the organizations’ efforts to address housing needs and improve the homes residents depend on.
These are practical contributions through project execution: understanding the repair need, organizing the work, and following it through.
Preserving housing is part of building sustainably.
Repairing essential systems, addressing structural and enclosure issues, and improving accessibility can help existing homes continue serving their residents. Durability and useful life are central to that work.
The perspective carries into our new construction as well: buildings should be considered for how they perform and function, alongside how they look.
THE NEXT CHAPTER
Modern luxury. Built on real experience.
REKJ’s direction is forward-looking: distinctive modern homes, thoughtful infill, and development opportunities across Dallas–Fort Worth and Austin. Our experience in construction, brokerage, institutional assets, and community housing forms the foundation for that work.
For a new build, a redevelopment, a renovation, or a program-based project, we bring the same commitment: understand the objective, respect the investment, and give the work the attention it deserves.
